Trafficking in Marijuana Arrest

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper First Class Holliman and Officer Sandbrink were conducting a Traffic Safety Checkpoint at the intersection of KY 91 and KY 135. A vehicle that was being operated by Alan Parsons II pulled up to the checkpoint and the Officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from it. When Officers searched the vehicle, they located approximately 2 pounds of marijuana in the trunk compartment. Officers also located several items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Alan R Parsons II age 22 of Lebanon, PA was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense. Carl T Zellers III (passenger) age 21 of Lebanon, PA was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense and Trafficking in Marijuana 8 oz to 5 lbs. Mark J Shattuck (passenger) age 19 of Lebanon, PA was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense, and Trafficking in Marijuana 8 oz to 5 lbs. All three were lodged into the Crittenden County Detention Center.
