(Madisonville, Ky.) -- The 1999 Chevrolet truck was occupied by Mr. Leo R. King and Mr. Paul M. Wood. The vehicle was traveling west on Mount Vernon Church Road, when for some unknown reason, it traveled off of the left shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was overcorrected in an attempt to get it back on the roadway. After traveling back on the roadway and off of the right shoulder, the vehicle was overcorrected a second time. The vehicle then traveled back across the roadway and struck an earth embankment on the left shoulder causing the vehicle to overturn. Mr. King was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner Dorris Lamb. Mr. Wood was transported, by Christian County E.M.S, to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. Details about the accident are still under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
