Update to the Injury Collision on Haul Road in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Jody Morris was located by the Madisonville Police Department and turned over to the Kentucky State Police. Morris was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center for the charges of Leaving Scene of Accident-Failure to Render Aid or Assistance, Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree, Assault, 2nd Degree, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Ins/Sec, 1st Offense, Failure to Wear Seat Belts & Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree.

Date of News Release: 05/31/2009
(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Jody Morris was northbound on a Haul Road on Warrior Coal Property traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway on the right side and when Mr. Morris attempted to turn back on the road. Mr. Morris overcorrected causing the vehicle to roll several times coming to rest back on the road. Jacqueline Hutchings was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. Mr. Morris fled the scene leaving Ms. Hutchings and Stephanie Jarzab injured at the scene. Both Ms. Hutchings and Ms. Jarzab were taken to Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. Mr. Morris is still at large with charges pending. The accident is still under investigation.
