Injury Collision on KY 70 in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- James P. Utley was operating a 2008 Toyota Yaris eastbound on KY 70. He was approaching the intersection of Summers Loop Road and Fiddlebow Road. Pamela Patrick was operating a 1998 Chevrolet Prizm and was attempting to cross KY 70 from Summers Loop Road. As Mr. Utley reached the hill crest, the front bumper of his vehicle made contact with the right, front bumper of Ms. Patrick's vehicle. Ms. Patrick's vehicle slid across the eastbound lane of KY 70 onto the eastbound shoulder of the roadway and came to rest. Mr. Utley's vehicle came to rest off the northbound shoulder of Fiddlebow Road at the intersection of KY 70. The driver of unit 2, James P. Utley, was transported by a privately owned vehicle to the Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. His three passengers, Dalton Utley, Jared Long and James E. Utley, were transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Pamela Patrick and her two passengers, John Harris and Rachelle Hollis, were transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. All subjects were wearing seat belts. Trooper Brandon McPherson, Trooper Carlo Anderson, Medical Center Ambulance Service and the Richland Volunteer Fire Department assisted Trooper Ben Sawyer at the scene.
