Cold Case Murder Investigation

Madisonville, Ky. (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police is requesting the public's assistance in developing new leads on a cold case.
On March 17, 2003, the body of Donald Wayne Barnett was discovered on strip mine property off of Red Hill Road in southern Hopkins County. Mr. Barnett was a 46-year-old, white, male. He had apparently been sitting in his vehicle when he was shot multiple times at close range.
If anyone has information concerning this investigation, they are urged to contact KSP Detective Daniel Morck or the KSP Post 2 Madisonville at 1-270-676-3313 or toll-free at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state). Callers may remain anonymous.
