Criminal Arrests in Christian County
Date of News Release: 02/19/2009
(Madisonville, KY) - Sergeant Newby was traveling northbound on US 41 when he topped a hill and observed two vehicles traveling southbound, side by side. Sergeant Newby's radar indicated that the two vehicles were both traveling 110 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. The vehicle in the northbound lane, being driven by Mr. Kyle Fisher, swerved into the southbound lane to avoid striking Sergeant Newby head on. Sergeant Newby was able to stop one of the vehicles, which was being driven by Mr. Daniel Miller. After stopping the vehicle, Sergeant Newby discovered that Mr. Miller was under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest. After Mr. Miller was placed under arrest, Mr. Fisher came back to the scene. After speaking with Mr. Fisher, Sergeant Newby discovered that Mr. Fisher was under the influence of alcohol and he was placed under arrest as well.
Kyle Fisher age 27 of Hopkinsville, KY was charged with: 1) Speeding 26mph and Greater Over The Limit, 2) Racing a Motor Vehicle on a Public Highway, 3) Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 4th Off (Agg) & 4) Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (On a Police Officer).
Daniel Miller age 32 of Hopkinsville, KY was charged with: 1) Speeding 26mph and Greater Over The Limit, 2) Racing a Motor Vehicle on a Public Highway, 3) Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 1st Off & 4) No Registration Plate.
Both were lodged into the Christian County Jail.
