News Release

Hopkins County Drug Investigation & Arrest

Date of News Release: 01/13/2009

(Madisonville, KY) - Trooper First Class John Komar stopped a vehicle on the Pennyrile Parkway that was being operated by an unlicensed juvenile. During the traffic stop, Lucas Almon, a passenger in the car, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. During a search of the vehicle, Troopers located more methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and several items used to manufacture methamphetamine. Mr. Almon was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center and the juvenile was lodged in the Warren County Juvenile Facility.

Lucas Almon was charged with Lucas E. Almon Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and lodgedinto the Hopkins County Detention Center. The juvenile was charged with Possession of A Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Operator's License and placed into Warren County Juvenile Facility.
