October Activity Report From Post 1

(Hickory, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post One Activity Report for the month of October is as follows:

Criminal Cases Opened 76
Criminal Arrest 261
Citations Written 1546
Speed   564
Seatbelt   176
Child Restraint   4
Collisions Investigated 62
**Fatalities (investigated by KSP) 1
Calls for Service 710
DUI Arrest 25

Post One Mayfield covers the 11 counties of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg. As of today, there have been 50 people killed in fatal collisions in the Post One area. Of those who died, 20 were not wearing a seatbelt and two were not wearing a motorcycle helmet. During the same period in 2008, there were 57 people killed in the Post One area. State wide to date, there have been 639 people killed compared to 659 in 2008.
