Two Arrested on Several Drug Charges

(Livingston County) -- Kentucky State Police Trooper T. J. Williams stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 24 for a traffic violation. Upon completion of the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted. The search located powder cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, scales and numerous items of packaging material and approximately 300 various illegal narcotic pills. A handgun was located behind the drivers' seat and $3700 in cash.

The driver Patricia Louise Mays of Kansas, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Cocaine, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd, Possession of Marijuana, these charges were Firearm Enhanced. She was further charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd, Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. The passenger Edward Mays of Kansas was also arrested and charged with Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, Possession Controlled Substance 3rd degree 1st offense and Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug. Both subjects were lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Trooper Williams was assisted by Sgt. Ryan Dawson, KSP Canine Officer David Archer, Trooper Brad Haley & CVE Officer Robert Andrus.
