One Arrested in a DUI Injury Collision on KY 453

(Grand Rivers, Ky.) -- A Paducah man was arrested today following an injury accident on Dover Road/KY 453, three miles north of Grand Rivers. Mark Swanson was northbound on KY 453 during a heavy rainstorm when his 1998 Pontiac Grand Am encountered a section of standing water. Mr. Swanson lost control and crossed the centerline, side swiping a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado occupied by Randall and Vicki Henson of Grand Rivers. After striking Mr. Henson's vehicle, Mr. Swanson continued forward and struck a 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe operated by Jacqueline Hatfield of Smithland. Ms. Hatfield was taken by Grand Lakes EMS to Western Baptist Hospital. An unbelted passenger in the Mr. Swanson vehicle, Jerico Nelson of Smithland, was injured but refused treatment at the scene. Mr. Swanson was operating on a DUI suspended license, was arrested at the scene and subsequently lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
