KSP Locates & Arrest a Wanted Fugitive
Date of News Release: 10/23/2009
(Paducah, Ky.) -- At approximately 9:30 PM, the Kentucky State Police responded to Interstate 24 at the 13 ½ mile marker to assist a stranded motorist. As the Trooper was approaching the presumed driver of the vehicle, the driver fled the area on foot. It was determined at this point that the driver was 41 year old Scott Herman, a fugitive wanted by the US Marshals and the FBI. Canine units from Kentucky State Police, McCracken County Sheriff's Department, and Paducah Police responded with a number of other Officers to the area Husbands Road and Interstate 24. After a search of the area Mr. Herman was located and taken into custody in a field off of Husbands Road at approximately 11:45 P.M. Mr. Herman was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Mr. Herman was charged with Giving Officer False Name, Fleeing and Evading 2nd Degree, and Federal fugitive charges are pending.
