Fatal ATV Collision on Hico Road Calloway County

Date of News Release: 09/13/2009

(Hickman, Ky.) -- Susan McCoy was travelling south on Hico Road, riding a four wheel ATV. Mrs. McCoy was being followed by two juveniles riding another ATV. The operator of the second ATV advised that Mrs. McCoy appeared to be slowing down and they were unable to stop, striking Mrs. McCoy's ATV from the rear. The impact caused both ATV's to overturn and eject the riders. Mrs. McCoy was transported to Murray Calloway County Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The juveniles, ages 7 and 10, were taken to Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment of injuries. The Kentucky State Police were assisted by Murray Fire Department, Calloway County Fire Rescue, Murray Police Department, and Murray Calloway County EMS. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Brad Haley.
