August Activity Report From Post 1

(Hickory, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post One Activity Report for the month of August is as follows:

Post One Mayfield covers the 11 counties of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg. As of today, there have been 41 people killed in fatal collisions in the Post One area. Of those who died, 15 were not wearing a seatbelt and two were not wearing a motorcycle helmet. During the same period in 2008, there were 48 people killed in the Post One area. State wide as of September 1st, there have been 513 people killed compared to 530 in 2008.
