Kevil Bank Armed Robbery Investigation
Date of News Release: 07/08/2009
(Kevil, Ky.) -- On July 8, 2009 at approximately 1023 hours Kentucky State Police responded to a report that an armed robbery had occurred at the . It was reported that a lone white male suspect dressed in camouflage and a camouflage mask had exited a red Dodge full size pick up truck in the front parking lot. As the male suspect entered the bank the pick up truck pulled off. The male suspect entered the bank displayed a semiautomatic handgun, approached a teller and demanded that she give him all the money from her register. He then threw a camouflage bag to her and demanded her put the money in the bag. The teller removed an undetermined amount of cash from her drawer and placed it in the bag. The suspect then ran from the bank toward Wyatt Street and was last seen on foot in this area. After law enforcement arrived at the scene a tracking canine followed the suspects trail approximately ¼ mile along Wyatt Street where it ended. It is believed that the red Dodge pick up picked up the suspect and the two suspects fled the scene. No one was injured during the robbery. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Kentucky State Police and the F.B.I. These agencies were assisted at the scene by the Ballard County Sheriff's Office, and the McCracken County Sheriff's Office. Both KSP and the F.B.I request anyone with information to contact them. KSP can be reached at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state), the FBI can be reached at 270-885-8272. The investigation is continuing by Detective Jerry Jones.
