Calloway County Sex Offender Arrest

(Murray, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police recently arrested a Calloway County man for violating a Kentucky sex offender registration restriction. On March 25th, Trooper Russell Boyd received a tip that Charles E. Bowlin, 44, was living in very close proximity to East Calloway County Elementary School. Bowlin, a registered sex offender, was believed to be living less than 1000 feet from the school. Living less than 1000 feet from a school is a violation of Kentucky law. After conducting an investigation, Trooper Boyd determined that Bowlin was living less than 1000 feet from the school. On March 27th, Bowlin was arrested and charged with Registered Sex Offender Registration Restriction 1st Offense. Charles Bowlin was lodged in the Calloway County Jail on a $5000 bond.
