Injury Collision on KY 129 in Graves County
Date of News Release: 03/17/2009
(Hickory, Ky.) - Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle injury accident on KY 129 about 2 miles west of Dukedom. Velma Potts 86 years old, of Martin, TN was traveling south on KY 129 and failed to see a northbound motorcycle being operated by 21 year old Wesley McDaniel, also of Martin. Ms. Potts turned into the path of Mr. McDaniel's motorcycle and Mr. McDaniel was unable to avoid the collision. Mr. McDaniel was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained injuries to his head and legs. Mr. McDaniel was airlifted to St. Francis Medical Center by PHI Air Medical. Mr. McDaniel was not wearing a helmet. Ms. Potts was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Graves County Sheriff's Office, Weakley County Sheriff's Office, and Weakley County EMS. The collision remains under investigation by Tpr. Thomas Clifton.
