Single Vehicle Fatality was the Result of a Heart Attack

(Henderson, Ky.) -- On September 24th, 2009 Richard S. Sawyer was operating a 2004 Ford F250 westbound on KY 56. For unknown reasons Mr. Sawyer crossed the eastbound lane and ran off the road and struck a concrete culvert before coming to final rest in a ditch. Mr. Sawyer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union County Coroner. An autopsy is scheduled for September 25, 2009 at the Medical Examiners Officer in Madisonville. Alcohol was not a factor.

The autopsy results indicate that Mr. Sawyer died as the result of a heart attack and not as a result of the collision.
