Injury Collision on KY 136 in McLean County
Date of News Release: 06/19/2009
(Henderson, Ky.) -- Charles Swift was traveling westbound on KY 136, approximately two-miles east of Calhoun, KY. Thelma Howard was also on KY 136 traveling eastbound. Ms. Howard attempted to make a left turn onto KY 250; however, she failed to yield the right of way to Mr. Swift. Ms. Howard's 2003 Buick collided head-on with Mr. Swift's 1994 Chevrolet Silverado. Mr. Swift and Ms. Howard were both trapped and were extricated from their vehicles with the help of cutting equipment. Mr. Swift and Ms. Howard were taken by ambulance to Owensboro Medical Health System. Both sustained multiple injuries. KY 136 was shut down in periods for over two and half hours due to the investigation and extensive clean up of the collision.
