News Release

Injury Collision on US 431 in McLean County

Date of News Release: 06/12/2009

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Marianne Kimmel was traveling southbound on US 431, approximately four-miles north of Livermore, KY. Dewayne Campbell was also on US 431 traveling northbound. Mr. Campbell attempted to overtake a slower moving vehicle by passing in a no passing zone. Mr. Campbell's 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis collided head-on with Ms. Kimmel's 1992 Buick Regal. Ms. Kimmell and Mary Campbell were taken by ambulance to Owensboro Mercy Health System. Both sustained multiple body injuries. Rescue crews assisted at the scene with hydraulic jacks and cutting tools. Campbell was then air lifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

US 431 was shut down for over an hour due to the investigation and clean up of the collision.
