Fatal Collision on US 60 in Henderson County

(Henderson, Ky.) -- Robert J. Williams was westbound on highway 60 near Reed. Both Sean Grice and Brandon L Lyons were eastbound on highway 60. Mr. Williams was traveling at an unsafe speed and dropped off the shoulder of the road. Mr. Williams overcorrected and crossed into the opposite lane of travel into oncoming traffic. The front of Mr. Williams' vehicle struck the drivers side of Mr. Grice's vehicle forcing Mr. Grice's vehicle to spin around off the road. Mr. Williams' vehicle continued to spin out of control until it collided with the front end of Mr. Lyons' vehicle. Mr. Lyons' vehicle was forced off the road as a result of the collision. St. Mary's Life Flight responded to the scene to transport the passenger of Mr. Williams' vehicle (Bobbie J. Major) to St. Mary's Hospital. All of the others involved were transported to Henderson Methodist Hospital by ambulance. Mr. Williams failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested. Mr. Williams was also treated at Henderson Methodist Hospital for minor injuries and released. The result of Mr. Williams' chemical tests are pending.
Due to injuries sustained in the accident Ms. Majors passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in the early morning hours of June 7, 2009. Further Charges will be pending reference this fatality.
