Update on the Adair County Shooting Investigation

Date of News Release: 12/28/2009

(Columbia, Ky.) -- An autopsy was performed by the State Medical Examiner's office in Louisville on 12/26/2009. The preliminary autopsy report indicates that Bobby D. Bunch died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. The case will be presented, at a date yet to be determined, to the Adair County Grand Jury for consideration.

Date of News Release: 12/26/2009

(Columbia, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police are investigating the shooting death of 35-year-old Bobby Bunch of Russell Springs, KY. The incident occurred at approximately 11:03 CST on Christmas night (Friday, December 25). Post 15 received a call from the Adair County Dispatch in reference to Bobby Bunch attempting to force his way into the residence of Michael Compton at 2294 Cane Valley Road in Adair County. Upon arrival at the scene, Tpr. James Richard discovered that shots had been fired and that Bobby Bunch had been struck causing a fatal injury. An autopsy is scheduled today in Louisville, KY. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is continuing. Detective Mike Dubree is investigating.
