3 Family Members Indicted in Arson Investigation

(Columbia, Ky.) -- A 16 month investigation into a partially completed residential construction fire has resulted in the indictments of 3 family members. The fire occurred on June 9, 2008 on Crocus Road in Adair County and resulted in a total loss of the residence. The property owners, 34-year-old Donnie Richmond and his wife, 28-year-old Tina Richmond, of McCreary County have been indicted on charges of Complicity to Arson 2nd degree, Insurance Fraud and Perjury 1st degree. Donnie and Tina Richmond were arrested tonight at 7:54 EDT by Troopers from Post 15 and Post 11 on Willie Ellison Road in Pine Knot, KY and were lodged in the Adair County Jail. Tina Richmond's brother, 30-year-old Scottie Baird, of Jellico, TN was indicted for Arson 2nd degree, Insurance Fraud and being a Persistent Felony Offender 2nd degree. He is currently being held on other charges in the Russell County Jail.

The incident is being investigated by Post 15 Investigations Lt. Eric Wolford, Post 15 Arson Investigator Alex Wesley and Post 3 Arson Investigator David West.
