One Killed & One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on KY 76

(Russell County, Ky) -- A collision occurred at 10:45 AM .5 mile North of Eli on KY 76. Brently R Frost, age 17 of Russell Springs was operating a 2003 Ford Focus when he lost control in a curve, ran off roadway and struck a tree. He was flown from the scene to U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. A passenger, Travis R Popplewell, age 17 of Russell Springs was pronounced dead at the scene by the Russell County Coroner. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. The collision is being investigated by TPR John Barnett.
