September Activity Report From Post 15
Date of News Release: 10/01/2009
(Columbia, Ky) -- During the month of September, 2009, there were 44 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were three fatalities:
GILES, JAMES M.; Columbia, Kentucky, was killed in Adair County on 09/03/2009.
SALLEE, LADONNA; Elkhorn, Kentucky, was killed in Marion County on 09/18/2009.
BUSHEY, FREDERICK; Springfield, Kentucky, was killed in Washington County on 09/26/09.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 32 compared with 32 through this same period in 2008.
State wide fatality count stands at 591 compared with 586 through this same period in 2008.
During the month of September, 2009, there were 1409 citations written, 271 courtesy notices written, 2426 vehicles inspected, 840 complaints answered, 96 motorists assisted, 60 criminal cases opened and 309 criminal arrests made.
