News Release

One Injured in a Three Car Collision on KY 61

Date of News Release: 09/30/2009

(Greensburg, Ky) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating a collision that occurred 09/30/09 at 4:26 p.m., 3 miles north of Greensburg on KY61. The collision occurred when a 2005 Buick, being operated by Virginia Goff, Age 85, of Greensburg, and a 1997 Dodge, being operated by Donnie Ray, age 33, also of Greensburg, were traveling south on KY61. Ms. Goff's vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2002 Ford, being operated by Danny Curry, age 33, who was traveling north bound on KY61. Ms. Goff's vehicle then continued south bound, travelled through a fence and struck a culvert before coming to final rest on Hall Cemetery Road. The Curry vehicle continued north bound, leaving the left side of the roadway and coming to final rest on the shoulder. The Ray vehicle was struck by debris from the Curry vehicle and received minor damage as a result. Ms. Goff, who was not belted at the time of the collision, was transported by Green County EMS to the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Curry and Ray were both belted at the time of the collision and were not injured. Trooper David Smith is investigating the collision and was assisted at the scene by KSP Sgt. Jamie Heller, Green County EMS, Green County Fire & Rescue and Deputy Robbie Beard of the Green County Sheriff's Department.
