Injury Collision on Ky 551

Date of News Release: 09/14/2009

(Columbia, Ky.) -- Trooper Clint Walker is investigating a collision that occurred at 7:38 AM this morning 15 miles north of Columbia on Ky 551. A 1997 Ford F-150 operated by Edilberto Alvarez was traveling north when Mr. Alvarez stated he swerved to miss an oncoming car and overcorrected, drove off of the roadway and overturned in a ditch line, striking a fence. There was no collision with the oncoming vehicle. 28-year-old Carlos Abla and 28-year-old Miguel Guzman, passengers in the bed of the truck, were treated and released from Westlake Regional Hospital.
