Marion County Stabbing Investigation

Date of News Release: 05/24/2009

(Marion County, Ky.) -- At approximately 1223 a.m. Post 15 received a call of a stabbing at Hawks Place in Marion County. William Bennington, Age 45, New Haven and Johnny Lanham, Age 46, New Hope were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a stabbing. William Bennington was stabbed in the abdomen and was flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Anthony Michalski attempted to break the two subjects up and was involved in a physical altercation with Mr. Lanham, resulting in Mr. Lanham receiving a laceration to the eye area. Mr. Lanham was also flown to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment from this altercation. Warrants were obtained on Mr. Lanham for attempted murder. The investigation is continuing by Detective Mike Dubree.
