April Activity Report From Post 15
Date of News Release: 05/01/2009
(Columbia, Ky) -- During the month of April, 2009, there were 51 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were eight fatalities:
YOUNG, HANNAH D.; Springfield, Kentucky, was killed in Casey County on 04/11/2009.
MARCIAL, FRANCISCO; Dunnville, Kentucky, was killed in Casey County on 04/11/2009.
PARKE, TAMMY; Columbia, Kentucky, was killed in Adair County on 04/21/2009.
VICTORIA, GONZALO VEGA; Dunnville, Kentucky, was killed in Metcalfe County on 4/25/09.
MOORE, SIMON R.; Byrdstown, Tennessee, was killed in Clinton County on 04/25/2009.
WALKER, BARBARA; Harrodsburg, Kentucky, was killed in Washington County on 04/25/2009.
WALKER, MARTIN III; Harrodsburg, Kentucky, was killed in Washington County on 04/25/2009.
LUTTRELL, HALEY M.; Knifley, Kentucky, was killed in Adair County on 04/27/2009.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 20 compared with 16 through this same period in 2008.
State wide fatality count stands at 229 compared with 226 through this same period in 2008.
During the month of March, 2009, there were 1070 citations written, 207 courtesy notices written, 1766 vehicles inspected, 999 complaints answered, 94 motorists assisted, 84 criminal cases opened and 180 criminal arrests made.
