Injury Collision on KY Highway 551 in Adair County

(Adair County, Ky) -- Trooper Clint Walker is investigating a collision that occurred at 2:45 p.m., 4 miles north of Columbia on KY Highway 551. 80 year old Jim G. Burris, of Campbellsville, was operating a 1994 GMC dump truck southbound on KY 551 when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the right shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Burris then overcorrected, ran off the left shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing the vehicle to overturn in a pond. Mr. Burris was transported by Adair County EMS to the Westlake Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.
