Two Vehicle Injury Collision on Ky 70 in Liberty, Ky
Date of News Release: 03/27/2009
(Liberty, Ky.) - Shana Wethington, age 17, of Liberty, was operating a 2000 Ford Escort. She was belted. Ms. Wethington's vehicle was traveling eastbound on Ky 70, crossed the center line after attempting to negotiate a curve on a wet roadway and struck a 1994 Jeep operated by Merida Simmons, age 45, Kings Mountain, who was westbound on Ky 70. She was also belted. Both vehicles left the roadway. Ms. Wethington's vehicle came to final rest in a field. Ms. Simmons' vehicle came to final rest after going over an embankment. A passenger in Ms. Simmons' vehicle, Tammy Campbell, age 43, Yosemite, was also belted and was transported to Casey County Hospital along with Ms. Wethington. Both were treated and released. Ms. Simmons' was transported to Casey County Hospital by private vehicle where she was treated and released.
Trooper Bryan Shepard is investigating.
