Post Fourteen 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

Date of News Release: 09/04/2009

(Ashland, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post 14, is now accepting applications for the 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on October 22nd and conclude January 21st. Students will meet on Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:30 where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.

The Academy classes will be held at King's Daughters Medical Center with some sessions being conducted at alternate locations based on need. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post 14 at 606-928-6421. Applications can also be obtained by visiting: http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post14.htm. Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post One district is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend.
