News Release

Fatal Collision on US 60 in Carter County

Date of News Release: 09/02/2009

(Ashland, Ky.) -- On September 2nd, 2009 at 0523 hours Post 14 Ashland received a call of a possible collision in the area of 2716 W US 60 in Carter County. Carter County EMS and the Grayson Fire Department were notified and responded to the scene. Lloyd A. Salyers was traveling West on US 60 in a white 1991 Chevy van near the area of 2716 W US 60. Mr. Salyers left the right side of the roadway traveled onto an embankment and continued in a westbound direction. Upon exiting the embankment Mr. Salyers struck 2 separate guardrails and continued over an additional embankment. Mr. Salyers was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. On Sept. 2nd 2009 Lloyd A. Salyers was pronounced deceased by the Carter County Coroner. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper B. Mcmaine U/876.
