News Release

Fatality in Perry County

Date of News Release: 04/24/2009

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On 04/23/09 Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call from Perry County 911 Center of a male subject possibly deceased lying in the roadway on Couchtown Road in the Busy Community of Perry County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that 51 year old Tony L. Watts of Viper, Ky. had lost control of his vehicle and attempted to exit the car before it ran over an embankment.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Perry County Coroner's Office.

An autopsy has been scheduled for the victim at the Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort.

No seat belts were in use at the time of the accident. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Brandon Thomas and Det. Gary Sandlin.
