News Release

Two Victims Located in Structure Fire in Breathitt County

Date of News Release: 03/25/2009

(Hazard, Ky.) - On 03/24/05 at approximately 9:35 pm Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call reporting a structure fire in the Athol Community of Breathitt County.

Information gathered at the scene led emergency personnel to believe that one or possibly two victims may have been inside the burning mobile home.

During the investigation two victims were located in the burned residence. Wayne Mcintosh age 43 and Denver Mcintosh age 3 both of Jackson, Ky. were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroners Office. Both victims were sent to Frankfort for autopsies to determine the cause of death. The investigation is continuing by Det. Gary Sandlin and Arson Investigator James Burnett.
