Traffic Fatality Occurs in Knott County

(Hazard, Ky.) - On 03/23/09 Kentucky State Police Post 13 Hazard received a report of a single vehicle accident on Ky. 1091 in the Topmost Community of Knott County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the operator, Paul L. Dotson Jr., age 48 of Dema, Ky. was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle, ran into the ditch and overturned. Dotson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Knott County Coroner. Alcohol is suspected in the accident and no seat belts were in use. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Loren Holliday.
