Fatal ATV Collision on KY HWY 378 in Breathitt County

(Hazard, Ky.) - Trooper Glenn Combs, U/354 with The Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard is investigating a fatal ATV collision which occurred on Kentucky Highway 378 at Lower Taulbee Fork Road in the Vancleve Community of Breathitt County. Trooper Glenn Combs, U/358 responded to the scene along with the Breathitt County Tran-Star Ambulance Service and determined that Billy Crase, Jr. was operating a 2007 Honda Rancher ATV without wearing a safety helmet and was towing a small utility trailer behind him. The trailer dropped off the roadway and the operator over corrected causing the ATV to flip. The operator of the ATV was transported from the collision scene to the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY where he was pronounced deceased. No other vehicles were involved in this collision and no other individuals received any injuries as a result of this single vehicle collision. Trooper Glenn Combs, U/354 is in charge of the investigation.
