CVE Pursuit and Arrest in Franklin County

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- On October 5th, Steven C. Edwards, was traveling westbound on I-64 when he was clocked at 88 miles per hour in a 70 zone by Officer Steve Oliver (Commercial Vehicle Enforcement). Mr. Edwards failed to stop after acknowledging Officer Oliver's emergency equipment. Mr. Edwards fled exiting at the 53 exit and continuing northbound on US 127. Mr. Edwards drove through the Frisch's Restaurant lawn, K-Mart parking lot, down a hill, into the southbound lanes of US 127 where the vehicle came to final rest. Mr. Edwards exited on foot and ran northbound toward Wendy's restaurant before being apprehended by Officer Oliver without further incident. Mr. Edwards and passenger Tommi Young suffered possible injury resulting from the path of vehicle travel. Mr. Edwards was charged with DUI 1st drugs, No Insurance, Speeding, Wanton Endangerment 1st, Reckless Driving, Fleeing Or Evading 1st, Fleeing Or Evading 2nd, Disregarding A Stop Sign, Disregarding A Traffic Control Device, 2 Active Warrant Service (Fayette County Drug Para., Possession Of Marijuana).
