Update to the Spencer County Pursuit and Collision

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- Loren Thomas Gordon Jr, has been arrested and charged with the following; Fleeing or Evading Police 1st, Speeding, DUI 1st, Wanton Endangerment 1st , Police Officer, (2 counts), Disregarding Stop Sign, Failure to wear Seat Belt, Possession of Alcohol Bev. in Motor Vehicle, Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Req Insurance 1st, Operating Vehicle with Expired Operators License and Excessive Windowshield/ Window Tinting.

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 1:17 PM the Kentucky State Police received a 911 call reporting a possible DUI north of Taylorsville, KY. Tpr. John Dixon located the possible DUI a 1997 red 2 door Chevrolet on KY-55. Tpr. Dixon obtained the suspect's ID and returned to his patrol car to run the suspect's ID. The driver Loren Thomas Gordon Jr. then drove away and the pursuit began. The eluding vehicle refused to stop and traveled southbound through Taylorsville and continued westbound on KY- 44. The driver lost control of his vehicle in a curve on KY-44 and left the north side of the roadway. He returned to roadway where he overturned several times ejecting the driver. Loren Thomas Gordon Jr., was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. The pursuit and collision is under investigation by the KSP Post 12 Frankfort. Alcohol is suspected and criminal charges are pending.
