Franklin County Women Charged With Falsely Reporting an Incident

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at 1:45 AM Post 12 received a call about a sexual assault that had taken place in the limits of Frankfort. Tpr. Scott Doyle responded and began investigating. He was assisted by another Post 12 Trooper.

The victim reported being raped by two Frankfort men. After extensive investigation by Post 12 Troopers and Detectives, the victim confessed to making it all up. An arrest warrant was obtained charging Ashley Atkinson, age 19, of Frankfort with Falsely Reporting an Incident. Falsely Reporting an Incident is a Class A misdemeanor. The accused could get up to 12 months in jail. The investigation is ongoing by Det. Mitch Harris.
