News Release

Shelby County Women Charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident

Date of News Release: 05/15/2009

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- On Friday, January 2, 2009 at 3:00 AM, Kera Hudspeth of Shelbyville arrived at the Jewish Hospital. She reported that she had been raped earlier in the evening by a Shelbyville man. After an extensive investigation by Kentucky State Police and several interviews with the victim, she finally confessed to making it all up. An arrest warrant was obtained charging Kera Hudspeth with Falsely Reporting an Incident.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 9:35 PM she was arrested and lodged in the Shelby County Detention Center. Falsely Reporting an Incident is a Class A misdemeanor. The accused could get up to 12 months in jail.
