Injury Collision Involving KSP Unit in Fayette County

(Post 12 Frankfort)- John Raymond Allen attempted to cross Iron Works Pike from the northbound ramp on I-75 at the 120 exit. Mr. Allen's vehicle struck Mr. Hilton Hastings on the driver side. Mr. Hastings was traveling west on Iron Works Pike. Both Mr. Allen's vehicle and Mr. Hastings' vehicle traveled into the slow lane where Mr. Hastings' vehicle struck Unit-3. Unit-3 was a 2008 Honda Pick up operated by Douglas Cox of Ewing, Kentucky. Mr. Cox is 46 years of age, and he was not injured. Mr. Allen's vehicle and Mr. Hastings' vehicle came to rest on west side shoulder and Unit-3 pulled off the roadway onto the shoulder. Mr. Hastings' vehicle was being operated by Kentucky State Police Hazardous Devices Investigator Hilton Hastings. Investigator Hastings was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released with shoulder and arm injuries. The crash investigation is ongoing and conducted by Kentucky State Police.
