Four Year Old Girl Assaulted in Shelbyville

(Post 12 Frankfort) Kentucky State Police arrested Juan Carlos Queriapa (age 25) for Assault 1st. On Monday, morning April 20, 2009, Kentucky State Police were notified by the Shelby County Health Department of a four year old girl with serious injuries.

Post 12 investigators responded and located the four year old girl with a serious burn to the bottom of her right foot. They also discovered other present and past injuries. The investigation has revealed that the accused Juan Carlos Queriapa forcibly placed and held the foot of his girlfriend's four year old daughter to a hot cooking stove causing severe injury. On Monday, morning at 11:08 AM, the accused was arrested and lodged in the Shelby County Detention Center and has been charged with Assault 1st. Investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police and additional charges are pending. The child has been admitted to the hospital.
