Meth Lab Arrest in McCreary County
Date of News Release: 11/09/2009
(London, Ky.) -- On Sunday, November 08, 2009, at 10:57 PM Kentucky State Police Trooper Tony Dingess was traveling on Dixie Bend Road in McCreary County, Kentucky when he smelled a strong chemical odor.
Trooper Dingess and a McCreary County Deputy Sheriff located the odor emanating from the area of a residence on Dixie Bend Road.
Further investigation into the odor led to the discovery of an active Meth Lab at the residence.
Trooper Dingess arrested and charged the following people:
Billy D. Stephens, Jr., 25, of Whitley City, charged with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st.
Amanda Morgan, 23, of Whitley City, charged with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st.
Donnie R. Barnett, 32, of Stearns, charged with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st.
Josh R. Phillips, 25, of Marshes Siding, charged with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st.
Jamie H. Lynch, 20, of Whitley City, charged with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st.
Garra Kidd, 21, of Whitley City, charged with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st.
All individuals were lodged in the McCreary County Detention Center.
Trooper Dingess is continuing the investigation and was assisted, at the scene, by Trooper Edward Jones, the McCreary County Sheriff's Office, the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement / Special Investigations East Branch and the Lake Cumberland Drug Task Force.
