One Killed in a Two Vehicle Collision on KY363

(London, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at approximately 11:49 AM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London received a report of a two vehicle traffic crash with fatality on KY 363 8 miles south of London.

Upon arrival KSP Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Detective Mike Bowling determined that a 2005 Kia passenger car, operated by Tara Prewitt, 23, of London, was southbound on KY 363 when it went out of control in a curve, due to wet road conditions, crossed the centerline and struck a 2002 Freightliner operated by Earl R. Brock, Jr., 46, of London.

Ms. Prewitt, who was wearing a seatbelt, received fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead by Laurel County Deputy Coroner Chris Vanover.

No alcohol or drug usage is suspected.

Detective Bowling is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by officers from the Kentucky State Police, KSP Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Laurel County EMS, Laurel County Coroner's Office, London-Laurel County Rescue Squad and Keavy Fire Department.
