Murder Investigation in McCreary County

Date of News Release: 09/06/2009

(London, Ky.) -- On Saturday, September 05, 2009 at 6:15 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 in London, was notified of a deceased person at a residence on Miriam Ross Road in the Pine Knot Community of McCreary County, KY.

Upon arrival Trooper Les Moses and Trooper Duane Foley determined that foul play is suspected in the death.

KSP Detective Billy Correll responded to the scene and began an investigation into the incident.

The victim has been identified as Patricia A. Stephens, 61, of McCreary County.

An autopsy has been scheduled in Frankfort and updates will be forthcoming as the investigation develops.

Detective Correll is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by Detective Doug Boyd, Trooper Les Moses, Trooper Duane Foley, Trooper Tony Dingess, Sergeant Tom Atkin, Lieutenant John Yates and the McCreary County Sheriff's Department.
