Attempted Kidnapping in Laurel County

(London, Ky.) -- On Tuesday, August 04, 2009, at 10:30 AM the Kentucky State Police Post 11, in London, received a report of an attempted kidnapping of a juvenile male from KY 192 (West Laurel Road) in Laurel County, KY.

The suspect approached the juvenile male and attempted to entice the child into the vehicle.

The child resisted the request of the suspect and tried to leave to report the incident to his mother.

The suspect then exited his vehicle and followed the child for a short distance before hastily leaving the area.

The suspect is described as an older white male with short gray hair, wearing a white ball cap with a red brim, a white shirt and blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen driving an older model white Dodge, 2-door, extended cab, pickup truck with tinted windows and a board across the back as a tailgate.

Anyone seeing this suspect or vehicle should not approach him but should contact the Kentucky State Police at (606) 878-6622 or 1-800-222-5555.
