>Human Remains Identified, Murder Arrest Made

Date of News Release: 05/20/09

(Corbin, Ky.) -- On 5/19/09, Kentucky State Medical Examiner Doctor Emily Craig was able to make positive identification of the body that was found in Knox County on 5/15/2009. With the use of medical records, the subject was identified as Jeremy Johnson, who had been missing since 6/10/2008. Arrested was Daniel Grubb, age 23 of Gray, KY. A murder warrant was obtained by Detective Jason York on 5/20/09 and served on Mr. Grubb at the Clay County jail. Mr. Grubb was being held on another charge, tampering with physical evidence, which is related to this case. This case is still under investigation by Detective Jason York of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.

Date of News Release: 05/15/09

(Corbin, Ky.) -- On 5/15/2009 at 4:00 p.m. Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received information about the possible location of human remains in the community of Indian Creek in Knox County. After further investigation, State Medical Examiner Doctor Emily Craig was called in to the scene where she determined that the remains were human. At this time, the body is not identifiable and will be sent to the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab in Frankfort for further examination. This case is still under investigation by Detective Jason York of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
