Criminal Abuse 3rd Degree Arrest in Van Lear, KY

(Pikeville, KY) - Michael S. Norman and Kathy Massie were both arrested and charged with Criminal Abuse 3rd Degree in connection with breaking the leg of their eight month old son. The couple waited three days before bringing the infant to the hospital.

Michael Norman told Kentucky State Police Detectives that he dropped the infant and broke its leg, but examination by medical personnel at a local hospital revealed the child has a spiral fracture to the femur bone. The couple was arrested on indictments warrants handed down by a Pike County Grand Jury. The investigation is on going at this time.
