Update to the Death Investigation in Floyd County

(Pikeville, KY) -There is an update in the shooting incident at Allen, KY. in Floyd County from August 5, 2008. Trp. Chris Hicks located Jessie Dulaney of Banner, KY. today in Floyd County during a traffic stop. Dulaney was interviewed by Post 09 Detectives after they learned through investigation that he was a suspect in the early morning Shooting incident at 74 3rd. St. Allen, KY.on August 5, 2008 Dulaney is believed to have been one of the subjects in the car when the exchanged of gunfire took place. Jessie Dulaney was charged on a warrant from Floyd District Court with five counts of attempted murder in connection with that shooting in which Sally B. Vance was killed and Dulaney himself was wounded. The investigation is ongoing and other arrest are believed to be pending.

(Pikeville, KY) - Kentucky State Police Detectives are investigating a shooting death in Allen, KY. After Post 09 Dispatchers were contacted about 4:00 A.M. by Prestonsburg City Police Officer Gerald Clark, who had made a traffic stop on the vehicle involved in the shooting at 74, 3rd. St. Allen, KY. Officers were dispatched to the scene. The details surrounding the shooting incident are sketchy at best, but statements indicate an exchange of gunfire occurred between at least two individuals. Sally B. Vance of Prestonsburg, KY. was struck by a bullet and severely injured. She later died at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. One male subject was shot. He was treated and released at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. Detectives have interviewed several persons who were present when the shooting occurred. Their names are being withheld at this time until each one can be located and interviewed.
