Pursuit & Arrest in Eastern, KY

(Pikeville, KY)- Trooper Little was traveling east bound on Ky Route 80 at eastern when a vehicle going west bound was clocked by radar at 92 miles per hour. Trooper Little activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to do a traffic stop on the vehicle. A pursuit was initiated when the vehicle failed to stop. The pursuit crossed into Knott County where the vehicle came to a stop. 59 years of age, Ollie Maynard Jr was arrested on charges of DUI, Reckless Driving, Fleeing & Evading and transported to the Floyd County Detention Center. Sgt. David Peppi responded to the scene and is doing an investigation of the incident. Other charges are pending.
